Best Scheduling App for Mobile Dog Groomers (2026)
MoeGo, DaySmart Pet, Pawfinity and Square Appointments compared for mobile groomers: real 2026 prices, route planning, reminders, texting and which app fits a one-van business.
Prices checked Oct 19, 2026 on each vendor's official pricing page. Software companies change prices and run promos often, so confirm before you buy.
Running a grooming van is a scheduling puzzle. Every appointment has a drive attached to it, a 45-minute doodle groom can quietly turn into two hours, and one no-show leaves a gap you can't fill from across town. A good scheduling app for a mobile groomer does three things a salon app doesn't have to: it accounts for drive time, it keeps clients from forgetting you're coming, and it lets you take payment in the driveway.
We compared the four options mobile groomers ask about most: MoeGo, DaySmart Pet, Pawfinity and Square Appointments. Prices come from each company's official pricing page, checked October 19, 2026.

MoeGo: best overall for a grooming van
MoeGo has a pricing page specifically for mobile grooming, which tells you who it's designed for. On the Basic plan ($49/mo), which covers up to one team member, MoeGo lists:
- MoeGo Smart Schedule, which MoeGo says "automatically minimize[s] driving between appointments so you can groom more pets per day"
- Two-way client messaging in one inbox
- 24/7 online booking
- Integrated card payments, including card-on-file and online invoices
- Automated reminders by text, email and phone
- Digital agreements that clients sign by link
- Mass texting and no-show protection (card on file, prepayment, pre-authorization)
Growth ($99/mo per van) adds multi-van scheduling, one-click route optimization, an intelligent waitlist, an advanced CRM, marketing campaigns, abandoned-booking tracking and a custom price model, with 900 SMS per van. Ultimate ($159/mo per van) adds unlimited automated messages, a branded phone number, a review booster and business insights.
Who it's for: a solo groomer with one van who wants scheduling built around driving. Basic covers most of what a one-van business needs. If you regularly re-shuffle your day and want one-click route reordering, budget for Growth.
Watch for: Basic's 200 included SMS per van. If you text reminders to every client and chat back and forth, check how many texts you send in a typical month. MoeGo's pricing page also doesn't mention a free trial. It offers demos and an interactive tour, so ask about trial options when you book one.

DaySmart Pet: lowest price for a pet-specific app
DaySmart Pet's Basic plan is $29/mo if you use DaySmart's payment processing, or $39/mo if you don't. It includes one user, scheduling with automated reminders, card processing, the mobile app, online booking, and reporting, with 500 text messages and 1,000 emails a month.
For mobile groomers, the DaySmart app has a map view that numbers your appointments in route order, opens driving directions in your navigation app, and lets you reorder stops by hand. DaySmart's own help center is clear that the app "does not automatically optimize routes," so you choose the order.
Higher tiers: Deluxe ($69 with payments / $89 without, 3 users) adds digital forms, payroll, a client loyalty system and email marketing. Deluxe Growth ($149 / $169) adds text marketing, two-way texting and reputation management. Premium ($199 / $219, 6 users) adds QuickBooks Online. Extra users are $9/mo each on the multi-user plans.
Who it's for: a groomer on a tight budget who mostly needs a reliable book, reminders and payments, and is fine choosing the route order themselves.
Watch for: two-way texting doesn't arrive until the $149/mo tier. Many mobile groomers live in text threads ("running 15 minutes late," "gate code?"), so that matters. DaySmart also says that if you don't activate after the 14-day trial, your trial data is lost.

Pawfinity: flat-rate pricing with unlimited logins
Pawfinity's Groom & Train plan is $55/mo billed annually or $60/mo billed monthly. The Royal Package ($100/mo annually, $110 monthly) adds boarding and daycare and includes up to 250 free SMS credits a month. Pawfinity's features list includes Booking Genius, advanced online booking, mapping and routes, auto notifications, point of sale, stored payments, a time clock, a review booster and QuickBooks Connect.
Two things set Pawfinity apart:
- Unlimited users. Pawfinity says its flat-rate plans include unlimited employee logins, calendars, clients and appointments. That's handy if you have a bather or a second groomer.
- Pay-per-text SMS. Outbound texts cost $0.05 each under 500 a month, dropping to $0.035 above 1,500, and inbound replies are free. Pawfinity notes US carrier surcharges apply on top. There's also an optional Precision Location service at $5/mo that factors forecast traffic into mobile bookings.
Watch for: Pawfinity runs as a web app rather than a native iPhone or Android app. You can add it to your home screen, but test it on your phone during the 7-day trial to make sure it suits you in the van.
Square Appointments: the free starting point
If you're brand new and watching every dollar, Square Appointments' Free plan ($0/mo per location) gives solo pros an online booking site, appointment reminders and unlimited staff calendars, with card processing fees on payments. Paid tiers are Plus at $49/mo and Premium at $149/mo per location, adding things like cancellation and no-show fees, multi-staff booking and waitlists.
The trade-off: Square is a general appointment tool for salons, spas and similar businesses. Its pricing page doesn't list pet profiles, vaccination tracking or route planning, so you'd keep pet notes in the client record and plan your route in a separate maps app. It's a sensible bridge until you have enough regulars to justify a grooming app.
What about Jobber or Housecall Pro?
Both are excellent at scheduling, routing, reminders and invoicing for home-service trades. Jobber lists routing among its scheduling features, and Housecall Pro includes routes on Essentials and one-click route optimization on MAX. They aren't built around pets, though, so breed, temperament, matting notes, vaccination dates and grooming history all end up in generic notes fields. If you groom and also offer something like pet waste removal or pet sitting, our Jobber vs Housecall Pro comparison will help. For a grooming-only van, a pet-specific app is usually the better fit.
How to choose in one afternoon
- Count your texts. Look at last month's messages to clients. If it's more than a few hundred, factor in SMS limits (MoeGo, DaySmart) or per-text costs (Pawfinity).
- Decide how much routing you need. If you service a tight area, manual ordering on a map (DaySmart) is fine. If you cover a big territory, drive-time-aware scheduling (MoeGo) can pay for itself in fuel and extra grooms.
- Book a real test day. Enter tomorrow's real appointments into each trial, then drive the route the app gives you. The app that leaves you least stressed by 3 p.m. is your answer.
- Turn on reminders and card-on-file from day one. No-show protection only works if clients have a card on file before the appointment.
Our pick: MoeGo Basic for most one-van mobile groomers. Choose DaySmart Pet Basic if price matters most and you don't need two-way texting yet, Pawfinity if you want flat pricing with unlimited staff logins, and Square Appointments' free plan if you're still building a client list.
Once your calendar is filling up, reviews are what keep it full. Our guide to getting your first 50 Google reviews uses handyman examples, but the system works the same for groomers. MoeGo Ultimate, DaySmart's reputation management and Pawfinity's review booster can automate the asking.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best app for a mobile dog grooming business?
For most one-van mobile groomers, MoeGo is the strongest fit. It's built for mobile grooming, and its $49/mo Basic plan includes drive-time-aware scheduling, online booking, two-way messaging and automated reminders (prices checked Oct 19, 2026). On a tighter budget, DaySmart Pet Basic starts at $29/mo with its payment processing.
Which grooming apps optimize my driving route?
MoeGo's Growth plan ($99/mo per van) includes one-click route optimization, and its Basic plan's Smart Scheduler aims to minimize driving when you book. Pawfinity lists mapping and routes and an optional $5/mo Precision Location service. DaySmart Pet's mobile app shows appointments on a map with directions, but its help center says it does not automatically optimize routes.
Is there a free scheduling app for dog groomers?
Square Appointments has a free plan ($0/mo per location) for solo professionals with online booking and appointment reminders. It isn't grooming-specific, so you won't get pet profiles, vaccination tracking or route planning built in. The pet-specific apps in this guide offer free trials: DaySmart Pet for 14 days and Pawfinity for 7 days.
Do grooming apps charge extra for text messages?
Often, yes. MoeGo includes 200 SMS per van on Basic and 900 on Growth. DaySmart Pet Basic includes 500 texts and 1,000 emails a month. Pawfinity charges per text sent, from $0.05 each under 500 a month. Inbound replies are free, and its Royal plan includes up to 250 free credits.
Can I use Jobber or Housecall Pro for mobile grooming?
You can, since both handle scheduling, reminders, invoicing and routing. But they're built for home-service trades, so pet-specific details like breed, temperament, vaccination records and grooming history won't fit as naturally as they do in MoeGo, DaySmart Pet or Pawfinity.
